One of my real interests has been the Zygoptera and Anisoptera of Ireland, our dragonflies and damselflies. My target is to record the full list of breeding  species. This is not easy photography because most of the time you are up to your knees in bog or water but the buzz when you get back and see what is on that memory card is worth every aching moment. Half the fun is actually doing the “prep work”, learning about the species, habitats and behaviours. I’ll keep adding to this gallery as I add species (currently I have 18 of the 24 Irish residents!)
